Why The IQ Metric Doesn’t Really Work

It would be really great if a test could be trusted to measure such a broad thing like intelligence but this can’t be done so easily. The IQ test purports to measure intelligence but it falls short in the many ways that other conventional tests do. As many people have pointed out, the IQ test is just like any other test and can be studied for specifically.

We need to stop using metrics like IQ, personality type and test scores as a way of restricting our perceived ability in various subjects. Those measurements do not come close to measuring ability or behavior. They do promote false beliefs that people who do not perform well on the test are incapable of doing well in the real world.
